Today's Estate Sale Finds

Today's Estate Sale Finds

I was up bright and early today headed to an estate sale before 7:00 A.M.  When I got there, the line was short.  It turned out to be pretty good.  There were absolutely no other pickers there that I know of.  And, in a small rural area, you usually know them all.  I made several rounds and every time, I found something I didn't see before. I was losing my mojo and motivation. This helped to bring a little of both back.  Here is some of what I found.  See more vintage items BehindTheWall

Love these old metal chairs, especially green

So, this means there will be some new listings Behind The Wall coming soon.  Check in regularly to see what's new.

SOME AWESOME FINDS

Well, I went to an estate sale yesterday and it turned out to be pretty much a waste of time for me, but when I got home I checked our local advertising paper and made a phone call. When I got there I was amazed at what I found!  Wish I would have checked the paper sooner.  She said she had run the ads for a couple of weeks without much response, so she gave away a lot of what she had to Hospice, which is a good cause...just wish I would have been paying attention. I paid a little more than I wanted to, but when you find it, you better get it, because if you don't, you'll wish you had.

These will be headed to my booth as soon as I figure out where to put them.

EVER CHANGING......

Yipee!  The lockers are gone!

Here's my take from yesterday!

I live in Colorado and yard sales are winding down, but I received a tip from a friend yesterday and managed to find some pretty good stuff including a car hop tray, small serape, a Scribner's Music Library box, an empty Buster Brown box and an old log cabin quilt top. Look for some of these items on Etsy in the near future.   HAPPY HUNTING!

Changes Behind The Wall

O.k., now that the show is over, it's time to focus on Behind The Wall.  I added some things and took some things out and this is what it looks like now.

I was going to take the lockers to the Pea Green show, but I'm glad I didn't.  They are heavy and not fun to move around.  They are where they need to be and not moving until someone takes them away.

Pea Green Show October 2015

The Pea Green show was held this past Saturday and as always was a lot of fun and hard work.  Now it's time to go back to the treasure hunt and prepare for March.  There was a steady flow of people, but the sales were down.  I heard some vendors complaining and others saying they did well, but you never really know.  As for me, sales were down about 40%.  Not good, but I still came out ahead, probably because I didn't take as much and sold a lot of smaller items. No complaints here, just grateful for the opportunity and the sales I did have.

These photos were taken before we opened.  I didn't get any pictures taken when it was all over.  I can tell you that it seemed like people were leaning toward the primitive items.  I sold every stool I had and a table that I painted.  I thought for sure the yellow shelf would sell, but I ended up bringing it back and putting it in my booth downtown.  I did not sell any skis or snow shoes.  Go figure....guess they're losing their mojo.  It seems that wooden boxes are still on the hot list.  I didn't have that many there, but sold all that I had. 'Til next next time......
