Our Little Room

I don't have any photos of the things I have found lately, but I did have my husband take some pictures of the space we rent in a local antique store, the last time he went down to rearrange and add some items.  The space is only about 6' x 9', so sometimes we really have to cram stuff in there.  We share the space, but at first glance, you would think it is a man's space.  I do think it contains more his than hers.  I have too many venues, and it gets difficult to keep them all going, since I do have a real job, also.  I do like a lot of the same stuff that he likes, though.  He just always beats me to it.  There is quite a variety in there, and he is pretty much in charge of it, but for a man, I think he does pretty well as far as arranging it.  And, to tell you the truth, I have never been that great at it, and I don't like doing it.  The part I like best is finding itl.

As you can see, he likes license plates, hubcaps, gas & oil and old tins.  I like what ever strikes my fancy and that could be anything. I never know from day to day.  I never know exactly what I'm looking for when I go out to sales and auctions. Until next time, have a great week!

Auction Today!

Well, we will be headed to an auction in a couple of hours.  It is about 15 miles up the road in Hotchkiss, CO.  An antique store that has been in business for many years is going out of business, and this auction is to sell everything that is left after having a half price sale that lasted for a few months.  Makes me wonder what will be left, but we will find out.  I'll let you know how it turns out.  If it turns out to be a dud, it's always a good place to socialize with all your auction buddies.  Sometimes auctions are the only place I see some of my friends, so I always look forward to them for that reason, also.

Yesterday we hit some out of town thrift stores and found an outside flea market in Montrose.  It was chilly in the morning, but warmed up and was real nice in the afternoon.  Found a few things there, but nothing real spectacular.  We also went to a Salvation Army store, which I call The Salvation Army Antique Store, because most of their prices are ridiculously high.  A plain and simple picnic basket for $59.95?  You've got to be kidding me!  Any way, we like to go in there for a good laugh!  Makes me wonder how they can sell anything. And it it makes me wonder how people who really need to shop there can afford to buy anything.  Honestly, it pisses me off.  Anyway, we will be off soon and I will let you know how it turns out!  See you soon!
